Trip to Myrtle Beach

Last week we went to Myrtle Beach with Keith, Katie and Garrison. We had a great time and luckily had great weather. We had taken Karson and Garrison to the beach 2 years ago but they were really too young then and the trip had actually been more work than fun. This year they did great and we had a really good time. We rented a van and all piled in together for the trip. We drove through the night going there and coming home so the kids slept through almost all the driving (thank goodness!!). Keith and Dyran took turns driving and Katie and I tried to sleep as much as we could. We stayed at the Breaker's Hotel and it was very nice.
Karson and Garrison played in the pools all morning and then after lunch they would both take a nap for 2-3 hours. Keith and Dyran stayed in the room while they were napping and Katie and I got to spend good, quality time enjoying the sun and just doing nothing (except talking of course). We went out to eat in the evenings and then spent the rest of the nights at Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing. Garrison rode almost all the rides but Karson (who is very timid with anything new) mainly watched Garrison. We did get her on the train though. It was a very enjoyable trip and we look forward to many more vacations in the years to come.

We ate outside at Joe's Crab Shack and Karson and Garrison kept dropping brocolli and lettuce into the water for the fish. Look at what they attracted!!!

This was hilarious. Karson and Garrison took a bath together most every night. The tub had jets and of course they had to turn them on. This made tons of bubbles and they loved it.

Eating Popcicles

This past weekend we went to eat with Keith, Katie, and Garrison. Afterwards, they came to our house so Karson and Garrison could play. I snapped this picture when they were in the back of Dyran's truck eating popcicles.

Look at That Face!!

These are just a few pictures I took one evening. I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful baby girl.

Rolled up Like a Burrito

Dyran and Karson were playing in the floor one night and he kept rolling her up in this blanket (her favorite blanket by the way). He would say, "I'm gonna roll you up like a burrito" and she thought this was hilarious. She would just laugh and say, "roll me up like a buwitto Daddy." Of course she also wanted to roll us up like a "buwitto."

A Couple of Cute Outfits

My mom and I have a serious weakness - buying clothes for Karson. There are sooo many cute clothes for little girls and we (mostly my mom) just can't help ourselves.

All Dressed Up

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Dr. Browder's daughter got married. Dr. Browder is the physician I work for. Some of us went to the wedding and it was quite amazing. The wedding was at the new St. John Newman Catholic Church and the reception was at Cherokee County Club. It was truly a fairy tale wedding.

Thanks for a great evening Dr. B and I was very happy to see that your dance lessons payed off!!!

This is Susan. She is one of the nurse practitioners I work with.
She is also a great friend.

Lovin the Pig Tails

Since Karson's hair has gotten longer, I have started putting it up in pig tails more. Especially with the weather getting hot. I know I am biased but I think she is the cutest thing ever!!!

Books, Books, and More Books

Last week I took Karson to the library for the first time. Karson loves watching Caillou on the Nick Jr. channel. On one episode last week, Caillou went to the library so Karson got interested and asked if we could go to the library. She loved it. She could not quite understand that we could not take all the books home. She finally settled on three "Max and Ruby" books and one "Franklin" book. She is already asking when we are going back. I am going to try and make this a weekly trip since she enjoyed it so much.

Big Helper

Karson is Ms. Independent. She wants to do everything by herself. She got a pair of Dyran's gloves and had to help me plant flowers. As you can see, more dirt got on the deck that it did in the pots. But.... must admit that part of that mess was mine because I knocked the hanging planter off the side of the house:::)))

Karson's First Plane Ride

A few weeks ago Karson took her first plane ride to Puerto Rico. I had a conference there for work and Karson and mom went with me. I was a little nervous about the plane because I had no idea how Karson would react. She did great!!! Honestly - she could not have been any better. She was not scared in the least which actually surprised me because she is often skiddish with new things. Especially new, big things. She acted a little nervous when we first arrived at the airport but by the time we went through security, she was fine. She loved looking out of the window. Before we took off she kept saying, "I want to go real hard." Of course she meant real fast. She could not quite understand why she had to stay in her seat when the seatbelt light was on but I had plenty of things to entertain her. I had a backpack loaded with snacks, toys, books, DVDs, crayons, etc and they all came in handy. We had a lay-over in Atlanta and then the flight from Atlanta to Puerto Rico was almost 4 hours which is long for me, not to mention a 2 year old. Believe it or not, she did not sleep any on the way there and only 45 minutes on the way home. She is just not a sleeper:) When we were landing, we were pretty low to the ground and she said, "those houses better watch out or we gonna hit them." Now when we see a plane she says, "I rode on that with Mama and MeMe."

Karson and MeMe

Notice the bear and baby buckled in with her!

Snack Time!

We Finally Arrived

By the time we arrived in Puerto Rico, Karson was worn out.

Sleeping during trip to the hotel.

WHEW!!! Thank goodness we are here!!

Karson slept on the way to the hotel and then a few hours after

we got to the hotel.
